• Finance Ministry might recommended higher excise duty on diesel cars.
• Infosys, being investigated in Texas over its sponsorship and use of US business visas.

• Tata Steel plans to lay off 200 employees at four factories located in the UK and the Netherlands.

• Ranbaxy has filed a consent decree with a US court as part of its settlement with the American authorities regarding a ban on certain manufacturing plants operated by the company in India.
